Welcome to the "Jaguar Nation!"

As a SU resident student, you will have many opportunities to interact with students, faculty and staff as you learn to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens. You will find that Residential Life staff - your RA, Hall Director, or any of us in the central office are here to help you make the most of your SU campus living experience. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with our web resources, and if there is something you would like to see us add to these pages, please let us know by writing to us via our Ask A Question page.

SU is a residential campus by design. Approximately half of the undergraduate population lives in one of nine residence halls or one of four apartment units.

Each residence hall/apartment is administered by a Resident Director. Resident Directors are full-time, live-in professionals who are assisted by Resident Assistants (RAs) who are undergraduate students living in each building. Each residence hall staff offers students the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and programs.

All residents are encouraged to take the initiative in developing a hall environment most suitable for residents. Freedom within limits is the guiding principle just as it is in other communities that make up society. Further information about housing can be found in the Residence Hall Overview section of this web site.

Wherever a student lives, staff members are available for resource and referral information as well as specific requests relating to individual need. The office of Residential Life and Housing is located in the University Apartments, Bldg 300, Suite 3125. The telephone number is (225) 771-3590 and via our Ask A Question page.

Once again I welcome you to your home away from home. "Southern Living, Made Easy!"
